The Teal Duck Studio was founded in 2021 by Deborah and her daughter, Sarah. It is a digital graphics studio that produces illustrated short stories, character illustration development, branding and re-branding, and explainer motion graphic videos. The eclectic illustration styles of the Studio can range from flat illustration, lofo artwork, urban sketching to anthropomorphic design.

Deborah Hannah entered the world of Graphic Design after completing a long career in the IT business. She is realizing a lifelong dream of exploring and producing personal visual art. Influenced by her IT background and seeking a personal visual style, she found Graphic Design satisfies both needs.

Deborah graduated with a BSc(CS) from the University of New Brunswick in 1986 and worked in Ottawa, Saint John and Fredericton, mainly as a GUI Application designer and programmer. In the last 10 years of her career, she worked as administrator, programmer and customer support for a large internal IT application. This gave her vast experience on being perceptive in anticipating and meeting her client’s needs.

In 2018, Deborah entered the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design and achieved successfully a Foundation of Visual Arts certification. In 2021, she graduated with a Graphic Design Diploma with Honours.

Sarah Hannah is a talented illustrator and has been very active in illustration since she was 10. Self-taught, she excelled in all her art classes, winning prizes in both Art and Math when she graduated High School in 2007.

Sarah studied 3D animation at the Centre of Arts and Technology in Fredericton in 2011-2013. In 2015, she continued her studies in the 2D program, renamed DaVinci College, graduating in 2017.

Though exposed to many aspects of the 3D and 2D animation world, she settled on Concept Art, specifically Character Design. As seen in her gallery, she is a very detailed and ‘animated’ character designer.
Currently, she is concentrating on Anthropomorphic characters. Please contact us if you are interested in having one done of your pet(s).
